Wand Smoke: Tales from the Labyrinth
Demons

A man may outrun his Demons, but never the desert. Cursed wanderer Runs-in-the-Sun flees his own Demon-possessed shadow, hunted by regret and weighed down with the lives of three Spirit-scarred sisters.

In the sun-scorched vastness of the Skræling Steppe, where shadows cast long and treacherous, a cursed wanderer called Runs-in-the-Sun flees his shade now possessed by a Demon Spirit.

Once a dreamer who wished an oasis for his village, his ambition unleashed a cataclysm that reduced his home to dust and his body to a prickly, poisonous cactus. Pursued by his past and haunted by Demons, he races across the desert, his only solace the bitter fruit that grows from his own flesh—that is until he stumbles upon a slave cart carrying three Spirit-scarred sisters.

Will his relentless sprint outpace the Demons, or will his shadow at last catch up with him and the three sister he seeks to rescue?
